Why Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing can sound a bit “Hippie”, but it is so much more than that...

Hypnobirthing is a philosophy of birthing, as well as learning evidence based techniques that can give you the knowledge, tools, support and the necessary preparation to have a calm, positive and empowered birth.

Each and every birth is unique and even the best made plans can change. With the skills and techniques taught, you will be able to remain in control leading to a calm and positive birth regardless of mode of delivery.

When we are prepared with the right knowledge and education about the birth process, birth can be an empowering experience.

Knowledge is Power!

What will we learn?

The Hypnobirthing Australia™ Positive Birth Program includes 12 hours of tuition for the birthing mother and birth partner taught by a Registered Midwife, in a small, relaxed group setting.

You and your birth partner will learn:

  • Physiology of birth

  • What to expect

  • Bonding with Baby

  • Pain relief options

  • Self-hypnosis

  • Relaxation, affirmations, the importance of movement, massage and touch.

The program is broken down into four units:

  • Creating and maintaining a positive mindset

  • Our toolkit for Birth

  • Preparation and choices for empowered birth

  • Birth- bringing it all together

When things don't go to plan

Ahh Plans! We all make them however we all know plans can sometimes change!

At Modern Childbirth Co. we believe a positive birth is about a positive mindset with the skill and knowledge to be able to cope with change. Being empowered with knowledge will allow you and your birth partner to understand when and why plans may need to change. We will give you the confidence to ask questions.

All the skills and techniques taught throughout the course are transferrable regardless of the type of delivery you may have.

Give fear the flick

The ‘Hypno’ part of hypnobirthing refers to hypnotherapy techniques that are taught to help you and your birth partner let go of fear and condition yourself to release positive hormones rather than stress hormones during your labour and birth. This will allow you both to stay positive, calm and relaxed while in the driver’s seat rather than feeling like a passenger.

We will explore common fears and concerns that you and your birth partner may have during pregnancy. We understand that the abundance of information available can be overwhelming, which is why we aim to break down these fears and provide helpful tips for dealing with them. By discussing your fears and concerns, you can take a powerful step towards addressing them and feeling more confident during this exciting time.

At Modern Childbirth Co., we are passionate about empowering women through education to have a positive and fearless birth experience. We believe that with the right knowledge and support, every woman can have a safe and fulfilling childbirth. Join us on this journey towards a more confident and empowered motherhood.
